Zach LaVine – Chicago Bulls
Zach LaVine’s name has been brought up a lot in NBA trade rumors and much of it is because of the lack of success the Chicago Bulls have experienced over the years. The 25-year old guard is playing at the highest level of his NBA career now and if Chicago cannot turn things around quickly, he may want out and to be traded to a team that is invested in wanting to win now.
Not only is he one of the hottest names on the trade market right now, but Zach LaVine is owed just $39M over the next two seasons. Much like Myles Turner, he is a very affordable option for any team looking to add a high-level scorer.
While Oklahoma City has Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort in their backcourt, Zach LaVine would bring a whole new level of scoring to this team, something they desperately need moving forward. SGA is averaging about 21.9 points per game this season, but Dort is more of a defensive player than an offensive player.
This team does not have any legit and reliable scorers outside of Gilgeous-Alexander, which is why acquiring LaVine could be huge for them. Not only would they have one of the most dynamic backcourts in the league, but the Thunder would have the foundation set for being a perennial championship contender.
The young guard is a fantastic and gifted player, but he is not a “superstar” talent in this league. He is an All-Star level talent and a legitimate scoring threat anytime he has the ball in his hands, but the Thunder would still need another big name player that Zach LaVine could be a great #2 option for.
Overall though, acquiring Zach LaVine now sets the Thunder up for a lot of success moving forward and it gives them a shot to make the playoffs this year after being projected to finish dead-last in the Western Conference.
