This Lakers-Magic trade features L.A. taking chance on Mo Bamba

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking like a team ready to win their second straight title. Early on, they are the best team in the Western Conference and looking like the best team in all of basketball. They have their roster intact but could be looking to add some more pieces. Could Mo Bamba of the Orlando Magic be an option?

The Lakers made moves in the offseason that showed they are not satisfied with just one title with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They made a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder for point guard Dennis Schroder. This was a position they needed to improve and got it done right away.

Los Angeles also approved the frontcourt by signing Montrezl Harrell in free agency. This was especially satisfying because they took him from their crosstown rival. If they want to continue, they could take a look at an intriguing prospect to develop before Marc Gasol retires.

The Magic have been an interesting team over the last few years. They have been able to make their way into the playoffs but have been a low seed which means an early-round loss.

If the Magic want to change that, they will have to continue to build assets around Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon. This is their core of players along with Evan Fournier on the perimeter. Orlando can take advantage of some of their younger trade assets and that is what they would be doing.

This deal between the Lakers and magic would benefit both teams in many different ways. He was with a potential deal could look like between the two sides.
