The Boston Celtics could be in search of that other NBA All-Star caliber player that takes them to the next level this season. They should target teams that are rebuilding and looking to dump some big names. That is where the Houston Rockets come in to play.
The Rockets are a team that has been doing this all offseason and during the beginning of the regular season. It began when Russell Westbrook was sent to Washington in exchange for John Wall.
Houston was able to end the James Harden drama and send him to the Brooklyn Nets. Shortly after that deal was done, the Rockets acquired Victor Oladipo from the Indiana Pacers. It is unknown what their intentions are with Oladipo, but the Celtics could come calling.
Boston is already one of the best teams in the league. They made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season and are near the top of the conference once again. During the offseason, they failed to add pieces in the frontcourt which was a great need for them. They could make up for it by adding some more star power along the perimeter alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Oladipo would be an interesting player to go to the Celtics in a trade. Let’s take a look at what it might take the land him in Boston for the remainder of the season.
