Khris Middleton

While it may come as a surprise to some to see Khris Middleton’s name mentioned in trade rumors, it may not be crazy to think that he could become a hot name on the trade market come the offseason. If Milwaukee fails to reach the NBA Finals again this year, Middleton could be the easy “scapegoat” for the Bucks to blame and as a result, they could explore opportunities to move his contract in order to bring in another superstar player to pair with Giannis.

This would be a dream come true for the Detroit Pistons because Middleton would be the picture-perfect star player to add next to Jerami Grant on the wing. Any trade involving Khris Middleton would not happen until next offseason at the earliest, but it is definitely not crazy to think he could end up starting the 2021-22 NBA season in a new uniform.

He has been an All-Star for two consecutive years now and with him putting up better numbers than in those years statistically, it is safe to assume Khris Middleton will be an All-Star once again this season. Through 15 games with the Bucks, Middleton is averaging 21.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists and is shooting 51.9% from the floor, 44.3% from long-range.

Next offseason, Khris Middleton’s value is going to be at an all-time high, meaning the Bucks could not only get some of the draft picks they do not have back, but they could also free up cap space to bring in another superstar talent to pair with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Having the All-Star forward join this Pistons organization and become their leader with Jerami Grant by his side could make for one of the better one-two punches on the wing in the league and be beneficial for both of their careers. Middleton has never been the “alpha” and has been Giannis Antetokounmpo’s sidekick for years now.

Given his own opportunity, Middleton could wind up having a breakout season like Grant is having, but possibly even better given his overall better play. Trading for Khris Middleton would be the “dream trade scenario” for the Detroit Pistons, but as mentioned before, any trade involving him would not happen until next offseason at the earliest, if trade rumors for him even pop up!
