3 intriguing trade targets for Los Angeles Lakers at deadline

With the 2020-21 NBA season nearly a quarter of the way done, the Los Angeles Lakers currently hold the league’s best record at 14-4 and are 10-0 on the road this season! LeBron James and Anthony Davis have continued their dominance, but with new, high-level contributors in Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell, it is going to be tough to beat this team.

They have six players averaging 10+ points per game early on in the year and have plenty of weapons to be able to adapt to any opponent. The best part about this year’s Lakers squad though is how good they are defensively.

The Lakers are the league’s top defensive team right now and that will likely not change over the course of the year. This group has really bought into their defensive-oriented system and as a result, they are the heavy favorites to once again repeat as NBA champions.

Overall, this roster is a championship contender on its own, but will GM Rob Pelinka and the Lakers’ front office look to stay aggressive as the trade deadline quickly approaches? The Lakers could still use some depth on the wing and if the opportunity arises to bring in a third superstar player, it would be hard for L.A. to turn forming a new “Big 3” down.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three intriguing future trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers as the 2020-21 NBA trade deadline approaches.
