Why This Trade Would Benefit The Washington Wizards

It was rumored during the offseason that both John Wall and Bradley Beal wanted to be traded by the Washington Wizards. Apparently it was true for one party as Wall was sent to the Houston Rockets. Washington seems to have no plan moving forward. It would benefit them to get rid of their players and completely start over from scratch.

During the offseason, Washington acquired Russell Westbrook and signed Davis Bertans to a long-term extension. Bradley Beal has spent plenty of time in Washington and the two sides need to part ways.

If Bradley Beal is truly disgruntled, it would benefit the Wizards right away to trade him. It would also be able to land a huge return. Washington would have to decide if they want another star in return or first-round draft capital.

In this particular deal, they would go for the star name. They would get back to second-round picks that they could throw in another deal moving forward. Ben Simmons would be focused on as the focal point of the team as long as he is there. Whether this is a move to keep Simmons around or flip him for another return, this deal would benefit Washington.
