Why This Trade Would Benefit The Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers need some more good players in the lineup. We are witnessing the growth of Collin Sexton right before our eyes early in the season. They have plenty of trade pieces they could send away to continue their rebuild and this is a prime example.

This is a trade that does not involve either one of their big men. Prior to the shutdown last year, Cleveland and Andre Drummond were in talks of an extension but nothing has happened yet. Kevin Love is the big name usually mentioned in NBA trade rumors but he would remain in Cleveland if this deal is made.

Both Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridges are players who could come in and start right away for the Cavaliers. They are helpful depth pieces that have a chance to blossom the lineup. Bridges is an emerging star and he would create a dynamic duo along with Sexton.

It is not easy to build in the NBA. This either has to be done through the draft or trading away assets for some big-name players. That is exactly what Cleveland is doing here.
