Why The Trade Would Benefit The OKC Thunder

The OKC Thunder are in full rebuild mode after last season. Chris Paul is now in Phoenix and Steven Adams he is with the New Orleans Pelicans. They acquired Al Horford this offseason and this could be the time to dump him and his contract.

Horford was sent to Oklahoma City when Philadelphia acquired Danny Green. This was after the Thunder sent Dennis Schroder to the Los Angeles Lakers. Oklahoma City has been making plenty of moves up to this point and they could make another here.

Griffin is a short term commitment and will cost the Thunder less money than Horford overtime. Hill is another veteran player who could be sent away in the trade.

The Thunder are years away from competing. They took advantage of a great season from a future Hall of Fame point guard, but they do not have that this year. It will be interesting to see how Oklahoma City runs their team moving forward.
