This Heat-Pistons trade gives Blake Griffin a needed fresh start

The Miami Heat are a win-now team with their sites set on the NBA Finals once again this season. They were able to navigate through the Eastern Conference down in the bubble and could do it again if they add another veteran player. The Detroit Pistons are a team with some options to send to Miami— headlined by Blake Griffin.

The name that comes to mind is Blake Griffin. Detroit signed Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee in the offseason to improve the frontcourt. When healthy, Griffin is still a dynamic player but he has struggled with injuries. The Pistons drafted Killian Hayes with the No. 7 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft but he will miss time this season.

This means that Derrick Rose is now beneficial to the Pistons so he will not be sent away just yet. Griffin is the name that could be sent to Miami to solidify the roster moving forward.

The Heat are led by Jimmy Butler. He is a big-game player who is off to another good start this season in five games. Bam Adebayo is the leader in the frontcourt and would benefit greatly from the addition of Griffin. The Heat are just a well put together franchise and have been for quite some time now. They have an elite head coach in Erik Spoelstra and key role players all over the floor. This is a recipe for success.

Blake Griffin would make an immediate impact for the Miami Heat. This is what a deal could look like that sends the former No. 1 overall pick to Miami.
