Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to many players in the frontcourt during the offseason and now in the early parts of the regular season. Kevin Love is a player who immediately comes to mind. He would be a nice veteran option but if the Lakers decide to look for younger, John Collins might be on the table.

Harrell was one of the better free-agent signings of the offseason. This is why the Hawks could be interested. If the Lakers were to part ways, then Collins would have to be involved. He is off to another good start this season but didn’t get a long-term deal done with the Hawks before the season started.

Collins is averaging 17.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season. He has taken his game out near the three-point line and is still an incredible athlete down low. Collins is a player that would help Los Angeles on both ends of the floor.

Los Angeles does not need to make this move to win another championship. They are clearly one of the top, if not the top, team in the NBA. Collins would benefit greatly from playing and learning from leaders like James and Davis.
