This Cavs-T’Wolves trade would send Karl-Anthony Towns to Cleveland

Why This Trade Benefits The Cleveland Cavaliers:

Players like Karl-Anthony Towns do not get traded often and being able to bring him to Cleveland would be right up there with drafting LeBron James as the best move in Cavaliers history. KAT is such a talented center and has still not reached his full potential, which is a scary thought in itself.

When you look at the Cavaliers roster at full strength with Towns, their starting lineup would be: Darius Garland, Collin Sexton, Isaac Okoro, Kevin Love and Karl-Anthony Towns with other young talents such as Cedi Osman, Larry Nance, Dante Exum and Damyean Dotson coming off the bench.

That is a playoff caliber roster and possibly more if Sexton and Garland continue to improve as players. This season, both young players in the Cavs backcourt are having career years and look to be one of the more dangerous young backcourts in the league moving forward.

With a reliable, young backcourt and plenty of youthful players with potential on the roster, Karl-Anthony Towns would actually be joining a better situation than the one he is in with Minnesota at the moment, which could be intriguing in itself for him as a 6th year player. Ultimately, when you look at things, Minnesota is not in any position to contend in the Western Conference for at least three to four more years, but in the East, Towns can contend immediately.

Everyone knows the Eastern Conference is a much easier conference in terms of total talent compared to the West, which is why KAT could want to be traded to a team like the Cavaliers in general.

Adding an All-Star talent like Karl-Anthony Towns can drastically change this Cavaliers franchise for the better and with Kevin Love being an aging veteran with a high contract on the roster, the Cavs could be able to trade away Love in order to bring in a better, high-level veteran All-Star like DeMar DeRozan or Blake Griffin.

For the Cavs, if any opportunity presents itself to trade for Karl-Anthony Towns, they need to be willing to trade anyone other than Sexton to get him. Acquiring Towns could change the NBA for years to come and make Cleveland a legit title threat in the Eastern Conference because of how much youthful talent they have.

Cleveland has never had true success as a franchise without LeBron James, but with Karl-Anthony Towns, they would be set up for success for at least the next decade and possibly longer!
