Malik Monk is a point guard/shooting guard who currently suites up for the Charlotte Hornets. However, there has been rising tensions between Monk and the Hornets coaching staff due to a lack of any playing time despite there being ample opportunity to play him.

Monk has requested a trade out of Charlotte and a great fit for him would be in Golden State. Monk is a natural shooter and an above average defender. While he likely wouldn’t start for the Warriors, he would certainly be a great presence off the bench and get consistent minutes.

Even if the Warriors only snag him for the season, they could give him the chance to show the NBA what he’s got and allow him to sign elsewhere.

Monk was a former top 15 pick in the NBA Draft by the Hornets and with a great coaching staff and talent around him, he could thrive and prove to be a solid player once again. He isn’t the best player available in the trade market, but he could be a cheap option for the Warriors who need all the help they can get.
