Why This Trade Would Benefit The Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets will have options when it comes to trading away James Harden. It does seem as though they prefer to send him to a team in the Eastern Conference, which could limit them to an extent. Most teams who are contenders don’t have the compensation to execute a deal.

A potential frontcourt duo of Kevin Love and Christian Wood would be intriguing for the Rockets. When factoring in they have John Wall playing at a high-level, there would be enough firepower in the lineup to give most teams a run for their money.

Being able to land a few young players like Darius Garland and Isaac Okoro helps to make this trade package enticing. Neither player has proven much at the NBA level but both players have legitimate potential to develop into helpful contributors.

Since Love isn’t on a favorable contract and neither Garland nor Okoro have superstar potential, the Rockets would receive a trio of first-round picks in upcoming NBA Drafts. This would help the Cavaliers to out-compete other trade offers for James Harden.
