Why the Trade Works for the Washington Wizards

There isn’t necessarily a need for the Washington Wizards to trade Bradley Beal at this current juncture…at least right now. However, after getting off to a genuinely terrible start to the 2020-21 NBA season, it would be wise to at least start pondering potential trade suitors for Beal.

The Knicks are an intriguing potential trade suitor for Beal since they could easily match salary while providing plenty of NBA Draft selections. It would help the Wizards to undergo a rebuild while getting off to a solid start with this return.

With Russell Westbrook as the lone star after a Beal trade, he could potentially restore his trade value after putting up a season with averages of a 30-point triple-double— reminiscent of his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’d be fully emboldened to play his game.

It wouldn’t hurt to add Mitchell Robinson to protect the rim and be the primary rim roller in pick-and-roll situations with Westbrook running the show. That could help Westbrook substantially in his effort to revamp his production to previous form.
