3 stars the Lakers could target to play with LeBron James, Anthony Davis

After winning their 17th championship in franchise history, tying the all-time NBA record, LeBron James and the Lakers entered the offseason as clear favorites to repeat as champions during the 2020-21 NBA season. That was before all of the offseason additions and moves they made.

The Lakers’ front office did not remain dormant at all this past NBA offseason and increased their odds to repeat as champions drastically as they went out and acquired Dennis Schroder via a trade with Oklahoma City, and then they went out and signed the reigning Sixth-Man of the Year in Montrezl Harrell from underneath their rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers.

They also added Marc Gasol, Wesley Matthews, Alfonzo McKinnie and re-signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Markieff Morris, and of course, Anthony Davis. With LeBron and AD calling the shots once again, but this time with an abundance of offensive talent, the Lakers should be the clear cut favorites to win the Western Conference once again and fight for another title.

So far this season, Los Angeles has started 3-2 and at full strength, look like the team to beat in the entire NBA. This does not mean that GM Rob Pelinka and the Lakers’ front office won’t be on the phone all season long trying to bring in even more talent.

Pelinka is always looking to add talent to this team and if they become available near the trade deadline, there are a couple of All-Star level talents that could be legit trade targets for the Lakers.

LeBron James has played with some fantastic players over his career, but could the Lakers possibly pair him and AD up with yet another high-level player? Here are 3 star players the Lakers could and should target to pair up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
