Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans

The benefit for the New Orleans Pelicans is easy in this one. With an acquisition involving James Harden, the Pels could become playoff contenders in the Western Conference. The plan is simple for the Pelicans and a trade such as this one could speed up the process.

With Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, the Pelicans have a star core for the future but they are still years away. Harden would create a bit of a big three and give the Pelicans a player with postseason experience.

It is time for a change of scenery for Harden and right now, New Orleans is not a bad landing spot. It all began with the Anthony Davis trade that landed them Brandon Ingram. It continued with the team winning the draft lottery last year and selecting Zion Williamson first overall.

Now, the process has a chance to end with a blockbuster NBA trade for Harden. It will not be cheap but it would be worth it if the Pelicans find themselves as a staple in the postseason moving forward.
