3 teams who could pursue a trade for Warriors star Draymond Green

With Klay Thompson being out for the 2020-21 NBA season with an Achilles injury, he not only misses his second consecutive season, as he sat out last year with a torn ACL, but the whole dynamic of this Warriors team changes. Golden State has a bunch of new and young faces on their roster this year and while Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are still around, this team is not the same.

After losing their first team games, failing to eclipse 100 points in either game, the Warriors have now won back-to-back games, but they beat the Chicago Bulls, on a buzzer-beater, and the Detroit Pistons, two teams who finished near the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference last season.

This year will be a very up-and-down type year for head coach Steve Kerr and his bunch, but things should seem to get better as soon as Draymond Green returns. Green has been dealing with a lingering foot injury and could be ready to make his season debut on Jan. 1 in San Francisco against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Not only is he the heart-and-soul of the Warriors, but he is definitely their best defensive player when on the court. With Andrew Wiggins being a solid wing defender and James Wiseman showing the abilities to be an avid shot-blocker early on, the addition of Green to this lineup should drastically change the Warriors on the defensive end of the court, which will translate to fast-break opportunities going the other way.

While he does not fill up the stat sheet on most nights, Draymond Green does all the little things to help the Warriors win, and getting him back will be a much-needed boost. However, if he returns and Golden State still continues to struggle, could the Warriors potentially trade their 3x NBA All-Star and former Defensive Player of the Year forward?

It is unlikely that the Warriors would ever trade Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson or Draymond Green, but if one of these guys was to go, it would definitely be Green. Golden State is not going to go out of their way and explore trade opportunities for Draymond, but if the phone rings and a team is interested in offering something for Green, then GM Bob Myers would definitely hear them out.

With that being said, here are three NBA teams who should pursue a trade to land Golden State Warriors forward, Draymond Green.
