This Pacers-Sixers trade would send Victor Oladipo to Philly

Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Philadelphia 76ers

This trade makes perfect sense for the Philadelphia 76ers because Victor Oladipo is a much better player than Tobias Harris and unlike Harris, they would only have to commit to Oladipo for this year. Tobias Harris is under contract through the 2023-24 NBA season, and given that his contract is way too much to pay a player of his caliber, it would be wise for the 76ers to try and trade him sooner than later.

He is getting paid almost equal to the likes of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and he is not even close to being on the same level as those guys. Not to mention, bringing in a former NBA All-Star like Victor Oladipo gives the Sixers a way better chance at contending for a title than Tobias Harris does.

Jeremy Lamb is also a great player for the Sixers to acquire in this trade. Lamb only played in 46 games last season with the Pacers, averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists, while shooting 45.1% from the floor and 33.5% from three-point range. The 76ers made it a priority to get playmakers and scorers to put around Simmons and Embiid this offseason and bringing in Lamb only adds on to their goal.

Pairing Victor Oladipo with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid absolutely makes this team a legit championship contender and potentially one of the team’s to beat in the Eastern Conference Finals. If Oladipo stays healthy, he is an NBA All-Star level talent and having three All-Stars on one team is very rare in today’s NBA.

This trade could be exactly what the Philadelphia 76ers need and while they would be giving up a first-round draft pick in next year’s draft, it would definitely be worth it if it means winning a title.
