This Nuggets-Raptors trade forms a Kyle Lowry, Jamal Murray backcourt

There could be some shakeup near the top of the NBA standings if a deal such as this one was to get done. The Denver Nuggets have a chance to solidify their backcourt while the Toronto Raptors could add some more young pieces to team up with Fred VanVleet.

The Nuggets were able to make a surprise run to the Western Conference Finals on the back of their dynamic duo. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic really put their names on the map during the restart. All of a sudden, Denver is a team that could beat anyone in the NBA.

If Denver could some more depth and leadership in the backcourt, they could potentially take the next step. The Raptors made it clear that their priority during the offseason was to re-sign Fred VanVleet. They were able to come to terms with their franchise player. Kyle Lowry is an interesting trade piece for the Raptors, as a result.

Lowry is one of the best players in franchise history and was apart of the first championship team. As they head in a new direction towards VanVleet and Pascal Siakam, the Raptors could decide to explore trade options for Lowry.

If Toronto puts him on the market, the Nuggets should take a flier on Lowry. Here is what a potential deal could look like between the two sides.
