Why the Trade Benefits the Cleveland Cavaliers
It is unclear if the Cleveland Cavaliers will be able to land Terry Rozier or Devonte’ Graham in a deal involving Kevin Love. If they cannot, Malik Monk is not a bad alternative option. He would continue the path that the franchise is on and give them another young player to rely on.
Cleveland has promising young talent with Darius Garland and Collin Sexton at the guard position. Down low, Love and Andre Drummond provide a veteran experience but might not fit into the future plans for the franchise.
Love seems to be the name that would be on the move considering Cleveland and Drummond have at least have conversations about an extension. Given the age context, Love makes logical sense as a candidate to be traded before the NBA’s deadline.
The Cavaliers are another team that has many years of rebuilding to do if they want to contend. This seems like a trade that would help both sides speed up the process and hopefully knock a few years off of their plan.
