This Heat-Spurs trade forms a DeMar DeRozan, Jimmy Butler duo

One name that has seemed to fly under the radar this NBA offseason is DeMar DeRozan. He remains a member of the San Antonio Spurs entering the season but will play on an expiring contract. A potential trade scenario that would be an intriguing destination is the Miami Heat.

The Spurs missed the postseason for the first time in 22 years. This could force them to send away veteran players such as DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. San Antonio will return quickly because of Gregg Popovich and his ability to develop players.

If DeRozan is sent away, there will be plenty of teams interested and the Heat should be one of them. Miami is a team ready to win a championship. They were able to qualify for the finals during the NBA restart but did not have enough to get past Los Angeles Lakers.

This is where a deal for another star to come in to play. The Heat already has Jimmy Butler as their big game player and could look to build a duo in hopes of advancing. It never hurts to add more capable playmakers that can get a bucket.

DeMar DeRozan seems like a perfect fit for the Miami Heat. Here is a potential trade they could land him on the Heat with Butler for the upcoming NBA season.
