Paul George Gets Named NBA All-Star For 7th Time
After struggling in the NBA Bubble, Paul George has been blasted by NBA fans on social media all offseason. His nickname “Playoff P” has been changed by NBA fans to “Pandemic P” and he has become a player that gets made fun of daily on social media. Just because he did not perform well in the NBA Bubble does not mean Paul George is not still one of the top players in the league though.
George finished second on the Clippers in scoring a season ago, trailing only Kawhi Leonard, and has had five straight seasons scoring 20+ points per game during the regular season. After dealing with some shoulder injuries last year, Paul George did not make the All-Star game, snapping his streak of four consecutive All-Star appearances.
This season though, Paul George is not just going to make the All-Star game, but play at one of the highest levels he has played at over the course of his 10-year career. George is going to average close to 25 points per game this season and will once again shoot over 40% from three-point range.
If the Los Angeles Clippers are going to be true title contenders this season, Kawhi Leonard will not be able to carry this team on his own and they will need Paul George to be the superstar player they thought they were getting when they traded for him. Expect to see Paul George play with some new energy this year and with a chip on his shoulder to silence all of his doubters.
