The Los Angeles Lakers are not done after winning just won NBA championship with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In this deal, they could get rid of one of their biggest trade pieces in return for an intriguing young talent from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Lakers made a trade for Dennis Schroder at the beginning of the offseason. This shored up their point guard position with Rajon Rondo signing with Atlanta. The Lakers also extended to LeBron James and Anthony Davis to keep their superstar duo together for the future.
Now, for the Lakers, it is about building a team around the top talent that complements what they do well. Sometimes, that may require taking a chance on a young player who hasn’t quite put it all together yet.
The Timberwolves used the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft on Anthony Edwards. He will join Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell as the core of the T’Wolves. Jarrett Culver is an intriguing young talent in the NBA but Minnesota doesn’t need him anymore.
If the Minnesota Timberwolves were to send away Jarrett Culver, this is what the return could possibly look like from the Los Angeles Lakers.
