After winning their franchise’s 17th NBA title led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, GM Rob Pelinka and the Lakers’ front office remained busy this offseason, re-signing key players and bringing in more talent in efforts to defend their title. This NBA offseason, the Lakers traded for point guard Dennis Schroder and signed reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Montrezl Harrell.
Going out and bringing in a guy like Dennis Schroder does wonders for this Lakers team as it not only takes a lot of stress off of LeBron James to be the primary ball-handler, but it gives them another weapon to utilize on offense. Signing Montrezl Harrell also does the same thing, but gives them a much better option off-the-bench.
The Lakers also signed veteran center Marc Gasol, so with Gasol slated to be the team’s starting center, Harrell can fill the role off-the-bench that JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard served for the Lakers last year.
The defending champs had one of the best offseasons out of any team in the entire NBA and may not be done making roster changes. Kyle Kuzma has been a player that has had his name come up a lot in trade talks a lot this offseason and after having a disappointing 2019-20 NBA season and seeing his role with the Lakers decrease, he could be on the move at some point this upcoming season.
If the Lakers decide to explore trades for Kyle Kuzma, these must be their four ideal targets.
