Why The Trade Benefits The Heat
The Heat are coming off of an NBA Finals appearance during the restart. They were able to make a surprise run to the championship, but fell to the Los Angeles Lakers. Miami will be interested in many superstars come next offseason in hopes of overcoming the West and winning a championship.
The Heat have their franchise player in Jimmy Butler. He will be the attractive name for other stars to come to town. Players like Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro also look like the real deal.
Robinson is a nice piece, but two first-round picks is hard to turn down. This is especially true if Miami is looking to make another trade for that star. The Heat have been linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo moving forward.
The Milwaukee Bucks might not wait and let Giannis leave in free agency. They could look to make a trade and Miami would need as many first round picks as possible to get this deal done.
This deal is not only landing them a quality player in Paschall, who could contribute to the team immediately. It is landing them draft capital that they could swap for other players down the road.
The picks will not be high, so it would not be beneficial for them to make them on draft nights, but first-round picks are the most valuable pieces in trades.
