It has been a long time since the Orlando Magic had a true superstar leading their franchise. However, a late-offseason trade with the Houston Rockets for James Harden could fix that.
Granted, finding a trade that makes sense for the Rockets and Magic that would bring Harden to Orlando might be tough. But, the Magic do have a lot of young talent and draft capital to throw into a trade. No matter what the cost would be, the Magic should consider making a push to acquire Harden.
Harden is arguably the best all-around player in the NBA right now. Many would say that title belongs to Giannis Antetokounmpo, but offensively, very few would argue that Harden isn’t the best scorer.
Last season with the Rockets, Harden ended up averaging 34.3 points per game to go along with 7.5 assists and 6.6 rebounds. He shot 44.4 percent from the floor and 35.5 percent from the three-point line on 12.4 attempts per game.
Those numbers would be a game-changer for any team that brings Harden on board. For a team like the Magic, it would be the first time they would be viewed as potential contenders in the Eastern Conference.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at a potential trade that would send James Harden from the Rockets to the Magic.
