Every NBA offseason there are surprises that emerge with certain star players departing in free agency, or requesting trades. This offseason, the first to do so was Houston Rockets’ Russell Westbrook. Then Washington Wizards’ John Wall followed.
Both the Rockets and Wizards now face a situation where they will need to evaluate the trade market for their star point guard—making a direct swap appear as a legitimate possibility.
The Wizards don’t have a lot of time to build a winner around Bradley Beal. Washington doesn’t need to be barely making the playoffs and having a disgruntled Wall complicating the situation further.
