Why the Trade Benefits the Detroit Pistons

This trade would jumpstart the rebuild in Detroit. They would send away veterans like Rose and Griffin, while adding Rozier and the No. 3 pick.
They would have the flexibility to do whatever they wanted with that selection. Luke Kennard would stay in place and Detroit could look to re-sign Christian Wood.
When the Pistons sent away Drummond, they made a point that they were looking towards a rebuild. This is a beneficial deal where they can send away some expiring contracts and add a few young pieces, especially Terry Rozier from the Hornets.
