The Phoenix Suns made the first major move of the NBA offseason by acquiring Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder via trade. Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton now have a third star to form a big three.
Last season ended up being quite special for both Suns and Paul. Phoenix is in win-now mode and wants to show Booker they are serious about fielding a winner around him. There’s not much better of a way to do so than this.
The future Hall of Famer, Paul, managed to recover his trade value by leading the Thunder to the 5th seed in a loaded Western Conference while earning an All-NBA Second-Team nod in the process. If he can take the Suns to the next level, it will be just the latest display of his impact.
The Thunder had a great feel-good season after trading away long-time franchise-cornerstone Russell Westbrook. After trading Paul, Oklahoma City will head into the start of a legitimate rebuild with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the focus.
