James Harden has been ‘increasingly uneasy’ about Rockets’ future

The Houston Rockets underwent substantial changes to the leadership of their organization since the start of the NBA offseason. Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni are gone and Russell Westbrook wants out. Could James Harden be next?

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden has been ‘increasingly uneasy’ about the Rockets’ ability to contend for a championship. He has been considering the idea of ‘pushing to play elsewhere’ before his contract expires.

Harden has been increasingly uneasy about the Rockets ability to compete for an NBA future and has been considering the possibility of pushing to play elsewhere before his contract expires, sources said.

The Rockets went all-in throughout the height of the Golden State Warriors dynasty by making trades with 1st round picks. Houston nearly won the 2019 Western Conference Finals but lost a lead in Game 6 and went ice cold in a pivotal Game 7.

One team that appears to be gaining steam as a potential landing spot for Harden is the Brooklyn Nets. He would be able to form a superstar trio with former teammate Kevin Durant along with Kyrie Irving— likely being able to run the table in the Eastern Conference.

The level of jump shooting impact that both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving provide would offer optimism regarding the potential fit with James Harden. Russell Westbrook’s shortcomings in this area made it tough for the Houston Rockets to overcome.
