The Orlando Magic will look to further their rebuilding efforts in the offseason using the 2020 NBA Draft. It seems they are looking to make something major happening via trade— involving even Aaron Gordon.
According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Magic are attempting to move up higher in the NBA Draft Lottery by packing their No. 15 pick and Aaron Gordon to get it done.
League sources say the Magic are attempting to move up into the lottery by packaging this pick with Aaron Gordon.
It’s unclear which particular NBA Draft prospect the Magic are looking to try to gain a position to be able to select. There has been a real need to add more perimeter shooting and a legitimate answer at small forward would help, but they need help at multiple spots.

Gordon is coming off a disappointing season that featured poor perimeter shooting efficiency and a complete lack of progression in his shot creation and playmaking. He is making it seem clear he is a liability playing the three and needs to be traded to a team that can utilize him at the four.
The bottom line is that Gordon has to get better at converting on perimeter shooting attempts. Going just 30.8% from deep is far too underwhelming for an NBA defense to respect him as a floor spacer and he’s not good enough with the ball in his hands to have a prominent role.
There will be competition to be able to pull off a trade up in the NBA Draft for the Orlando Magic. The Boston Celtics have three 1st round selections and will try to move up to facilitate a Jrue Holiday trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.
