The fun of the NBA offseason is officially upon us— where no shortage of trade rumors and possibilities are circulating. The latest example features the Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves leading into the 2020 NBA Draft.
The Timberwolves are reportedly interested in trading up to get their second 1st round selection into the NBA Draft Lottery. It seems their primary objective is to be in a position to select former Florida State standout, Patrick Williams.
There was rumor of the Detroit Pistons, who hold the No. 7 pick, giving Williams a ‘promise’ to get drafted if he’s still available— prompting the Timberwolves to potentially trade with the Hawks to get to No. 6 in order to add him.
It won’t be easy to go all the way from No. 17 and jump all the way to the No. 6 in the order. However, if the Timberwolves get that done, it would truly change the way the rest of the NBA Draft could play out.
Let’s take a look at a trade package that involves both the Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves and features the No. 6 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
