It will be interesting to see what the Warriors choose to do this offseason. Do they swing for the fences with the No. 2 overall pick and try to acquire another star? Will they take a top prospect like James Wiseman who could come in and play an immediate role?

Only time will tell us the answers to those questions. However, the Warriors don’t necessarily need to make huge moves to get back into NBA Finals contention.

Here are three intriguing targets the Warriors should take a look at in NBA free agency.

3. Wesley Matthews, Shooting Guard, Bucks

While Matthews would have to decline his player option to hit free agency, there is a good chance he will be available. Matthews would be a very nice addition for the Warriors to improve their bench unit.

Last season with the Bucks, Matthews ended up averaging 7.4 points per game to go along with 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He shot 36.4 percent from the three-point line. Matthews is also known for his defense.

Even though Matthews would not move the needle a ton for the Warriors, he would be a nice depth piece that would certainly help next season.

2. Paul Millsap, Power Forward, Nuggets

Gone are the days of Millsap being an All-Star caliber power forward. He is nothing close to what he once was, but he is still a quality piece that could fill a very important role coming off of the bench.

Millsap ended up averaging 11.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He shot 48.2 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from the three-point line.

Not only could Millsap be a solid bench piece, he could be a starter. The Warriors need help in the front-court and he could be exactly the kind of fit that the team needs.

1. Justin Holiday, Small Forward, Pacers

Finally, and perhaps the best potential free agency target for the Warriors, Justin Holiday would be a nice fit. He can spread the floor, doesn’t need the ball in his hands, and is a great defender.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Pacers, Holiday ended up averaging 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He connected on 40.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Those numbers may not look huge, but they are very solid for a bench player.

Holiday is the kind of player who can help a team compete now. Obviously, the Warriors are going to be looking to compete now. These two parties would be wise to explore teaming up this offseason.
