This Cavs-Suns trade for Kevin Love shakes up NBA Draft

Kevin Love may not be the huge star name that he once was, but no one would say that he isn’t an intriguing trade target this offseason. With the Cleveland Cavaliers once again being open to moving him, quite a few teams should have interest. One of those teams is the Phoenix Suns, who could shake up the 2020 NBA Draft with a trade for Love.

Why should the Suns be interested in trading for Love? Quite simply, they need more talent around Devin Booker and showed in the bubble that they are close to serious playoff contention. Love could put them over the top.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Cavaliers in 56 games played, Love ended up averaging 17.6 points per game to go along with 9.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He shot 45 percent from the floor and 37.4 percent from the three-point line.

At 32 years of age, Love is likely ready to turn the chapter on his tenure with the Cavaliers. He had a lot of success with the franchise, but the rebuilding phase they are currently in doesn’t fit his timeline. Even though the Suns aren’t viewed as NBA Finals contenders, they may not be terribly far off.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at an offseason trade that would send Kevin Love from the Cavaliers to the Suns and shake up the NBA Draft at the same time.
