New York Knicks
The New York Knicks could land the new face of the franchise in a trade for Oladipo. In October, there was a report that the Knicks are eyeing Oladipo this offseason. New York certainly has the assets to be able to acquire Oladipo, and he would immediately bring more credibility to the franchise.
The Knicks have a few pieces to build around, in RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson. They also have guards who’ve yet to materialize, in Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina, both of whom could be used as trade pieces.
New York would be an interesting spot for Oladipo because it would put him on a big stage, but he’d also be tasked with turning the fortunes of the franchise around. It would be the most feasible way of adding a star aside from waiting and hoping one comes.
The Knicks have ample cap space, so if they land Oladipo, their most ideal scenario is that he’s able to entice others to join him in playing for Tom Thibodeau. The impact Oladipo has proven to make defensively would fit with the culture the team wants to establish.
