3 dark-horse landing spots for Celtics star Gordon Hayward

If Boston Celtics star Gordon Hayward chooses to opt-in for the final year of his contract this offseason, the Celtics could look to trade their prized free agent signing from 2017. Could he end up playing in a new NBA market next season?

Hayward would be owed $34 million in the final season of his contract. It’s possible he opts out and elects free agency, but that would only seem likely if he felt he’d get a more lucrative deal elsewhere.

Where else could Hayward end up if he opts in for the final year of his contract only to later be traded? There should be plenty of teams interested in acquiring a wing that can shoot the ball and can complement high-usage playmakers by picking his spots.
