The Dallas Mavericks showed signs of growth in the NBA bubble, led by Luka Doncic in the playoffs. Unfortunately, Dallas dealt with an injury to Kristaps Porzingis and was ultimately eliminated. Could Dallas retool by adding a star such as the Indiana Pacers’ Victor Oladipo?
Oladipo has one year remaining on his contract with the Pacers, and can be a free agent in 2021. There has been speculation that Oladipo wants a change of scenery this offseason.
As it pertains to Dallas, the Mavs could offer Oladipo an up-and-coming team where Oladipo could be the difference-maker.
Dallas already has one of the top young players in the NBA in Doncic, and the Mavs could make quite a statement by acquiring a star in Oladipo alongside Doncic and an (ideally) healthy Porzingis.
Let’s take a look at a hypothetical trade that could send Oladipo to Dallas, and analyze it for both the Pacers and Mavs.
