This Magic-Warriors trade sends Nikola Vucevic to Golden State

The Golden State Warriors will face a need to do what they can to surround Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson the necessary pieces to win a championship. Could a trade with the Orlando Magic for Nikola Vucevic be a potential solution?

The idea of a trade featuring Vucevic to the Warriors is not new but it’s an intriguing one, nevertheless. Golden State appears to have the pieces to be able to get something done with the Magic if that’s the route they were to choose to take.

The idea caught attention when on ESPN’s “The Jump,” Paul Pierce suggested the Warriors pursue a trade for Vucevic when discussing potential trade targets for Golden State this offseason.

“And a name that comes to mind — (Nikola) Vucevic. I think he could go in there and fit right in among their guards. He gives them a down-low presence (and) can knock down shots,” Pierce said.

It was a successful season for Vucevic in 2019-20— posting averages of 19.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He didn’t quite have an All-Star campaign but it was as close to being one as anyone in the Eastern Conference who didn’t quite make the cut.

The Magic will need to make some important decisions in the offseason— including the future of Vucevic with the franchise. It will be fascinating to see when considering Jonathan Isaac being sidelined for the whole season could provide an opportune time to make significant changes.

Let’s take a look at a trade that would send Orlando Magic star Nikola Vucevic to the Golden State Warriors.
