1. New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans began loading up on young players when they sent Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. They received Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and Lonzo Ball in that deal. Zion Williamson was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in 2020 to add to the core.

Ball has been underwhelming. Ingram has emerged as one of the premiere scorers in the game. If they are able to hold onto him, Williamson, and acquire Ben Simmons, that would completely change the team.

Let’s not forget the veteran presence on the team. The 76ers are viewed as a win-now team. Would Jrue Holiday and J.J. Redick help? The answer is yes, given the glaring lack of shooting ability in Philadelphia.

The Pelicans also have draft picks from the Lakers that they could include in the deal. With their youth, the Pelicans could be able to get a deal done without in including Williamson and Ingram, who should be untouchable.

Simmons joining this core would make the Pelicans one of the most exciting teams to watch in basketball.
