5. Cleveland Cavaliers
It was obvious that the Cavs would have to rebuild once they lost LeBron James. This is a move that would speed up the rebuilding process and give their team a premiere player. The Cavs have assets to get this deal done.
Cleveland still features Kevin Love and Andre Drummond was brought to town prior to the shutdown of the season. They also feature young talents such as Darius Garland and Collin Sexton. Role players like Larry Nance Jr. and Dante Exum could also be enticing. Not to mention, the Cavs have some draft picks.
They hold the No. 5 overall pick in the upcoming draft. Cleveland has the Milwaukee Bucks’ first-round pick in 2022, which they should be willing to part ways with since it will be late.
This is a fit for Simmons. He would have two capable big men and some young players to mentor. It would benefit the Cavs to keep one of their young point guards to handle the ball. Simmons is able to play off the ball and that role would fit him well.
Keep an eye on the Cavaliers this offseason should the 76ers look to trade a star.
