Why it makes sense for the Lakers
This is an easy one. The Lakers are the reigning NBA champs and adding an All-Star point guard like Damian Lillard would only make them better. Los Angeles is already a must watch team but they would take it to another level with Lillard.
Los Angeles would just have to figure the trade out from a financial standpoint. They should not hesitate to give up first round selections. In the NBA, these are valuable when you are a team picking in the top 10, but that will not be the Lakers as long as they have LeBron James and Davis on the roster.
The Lakers have a chance to build the next great dynasty and adding Lillard would completely solidify that.
It will be interesting to see if Los Angeles looks to make a deal for another superstar. If they do, Lillard should be at the top of the list and many people would love to see it.
