As Stan Van Gundy teams up with David Griffin for the New Orleans Pelicans, time will tell just how aggressive this duo will be in improving the roster around Zion Williamson. If the Pelicans want to aim high, they could put in a call to see what the Clippers’ asking price would be for Paul George.

George can opt-out of his contract after 2021 and be a free agent.

New Clippers coach Ty Lue said recently he believes “Kawhi and PG are here to stay for a long time.”

Lue was an assistant on last year’s Clippers squad, so he should have a good feel for the dynamic already.

That being said, it’s worth noting Clippers owner Steve Ballmer was angry after the Clippers were eliminated and reportedly had thoughts of trading and firing everybody.

The George rumors may persist through the offseason, and he could be the star to help New Orleans reach the playoffs.
