Why the Clippers Should Do It
The Clippers need to explore any available options to upgrade their roster while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are still in place.
If Los Angeles comes up short again next season and Leonard and/or George depart, all of the picks surrendered for George (and Leonard) will be for naught.
The Clippers have been all-in since Leonard agreed to sign there and the trade for George was executed. For Los Angeles, there is little choice but to keep pursing a title, and Paul would help the Clippers compete in a crowded Western Conference next season.
Paul was an All Star last season for the first time since 2015-16, when he was with the Clippers. He proved that he was undeterred by being the veteran voice on a young Thunder team, and Oklahoma City made the playoffs in the bubble.
If Paul is able to go back to the Clippers, he could make a run at a title, which is the only thing missing from his Hall of Fame career at this point.
