Milwaukee Bucks are a team to watch for Victor Oladipo trade

The Milwaukee Bucks will need to reinforce its roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of their final season before he reaches free agency next offseason. Could making a trade for Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo be an option?

With Victor Oladipo entering the final year of his contract, the Pacers may not end up reaching an agreement on a contract extension in the offseason. If that were to happen, finding a potential trade partner

According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Milwaukee Bucks are a team he’ll watch for being a potential trade partner with the Indiana Pacers for Victor Oladipo.

In theory, taking a gamble on Oladipo is a calculated risk that could have an intriguing payoff for the Bucks. If he can return relatively close to pre-injury form, a potential trade would be a real steal.

Last season, Oladipo made his return from injury midway through this season and struggled to find his form. He ended up averaging 17.8 points (39.3% FG, 36.4% 3P, 93.8% FT), 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 steals during his four playoff performances in the NBA Bubble.

Chris Paul has been mentioned as a logical trade target for the Bucks in the past and that appears to be a cleaner fit. However, his massive salary cap hit makes it challenging to maneuver compared to just the $21 million expiring salary for Oladipo.

The Milwaukee Bucks do have the option of pursuing other trade targets if the Indiana Pacers do seek too much for Victor Oladipo. Regardless, it will require some risk and creativity to bolster the supporting cast around Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason.
