Knicks Trade Eighth Pick for a Star

The New York Knicks will have options in the NBA Draft. They could stick at No. 8 and make their pick, they could trade up if a team is willing to trade back, or they could do something different altogether.

If the Knicks can’t trade up (more on that later) perhaps they package their 8th overall selection, plus additional assets for Victor Oladipo.

A few caveats on this trade: The Knicks would need to be willing to trade more than just the 8th pick, all while knowing Oladipo has just one year left on his current contract before he needs to be re-signed.

Also, Oladipo has been pretty clear that he wants to play for a contender, so it may take some convincing on the Knicks’ part to show Oladipo they’re serious about contending.

The Pacers should have plenty of options when it comes to an Oladipo trade, but Indiana currently lacks a first round pick, and it could recoup one this way.
