The Pistons have Derrick Rose, Luke Kennard and other guards in the mix, but it may not hurt to take a flier on Dennis Smith Jr.

The Pistons reportedly had interest in Smith Jr. back when he was with Dallas, but his stock has fallen since then.

The cost of acquiring Smith Jr. likely wouldn’t be too high, and at 22, Smith Jr. still has plenty of time to get his career back on track.

He could do so in Detroit, where the media spotlight is not nearly as bright as it is in New York.
