The Los Angeles Clippers are at a crossroads. They’re currently without a head coach, and they have a roster anchored by two stars who could leave after the 2021 season. Of their two stars, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, it’s George who is viewed as more expendable.
Leonard is untouchable, except when he wants out of a situation, as he did in San Antonio.
George, on the other hand, could be on the move this offseason, especially after he said the team didn’t feel like 2020 was a championship or bust season.
Clearly it was championship or bust, as the underperformance cost Rivers his job.
As the Clippers look ahead to next season, it may be worth fielding calls on George to see what Los Angeles could recoup in a trade.
