The Golden State Warriors are a team to watch as the NBA Draft approaches. Golden State holds the No. 2 overall pick, but due to the Warriors’ current roster and philosophy of basketball operations, Golden State is widely expected to trade the pick.
Golden State’s first season in the Chase Center in San Francisco was supposed to be special, but an injury-riddled, 15 win season derailed plans.
The Warriors could simply take a young player and keep him, as most teams might do with the second overall selection in the draft.
But this front office likely views the pick as more of an asset than a building block — as they should.
