This Kings-Mavericks trade would pair Buddy Hield with Luka Doncic

Led by Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks caught the NBA by surprise by giving the Los Angeles Clippers fits in the playoffs. As the Sacramento Kings, they fell flat in their pursuit of a playoff spot while Buddy Hield became disgruntled.

It’s going to be important for the Mavericks to continue to add talent around Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis in order for them to take the next step. There are multiple routes Dallas can go in order to try to accomplish this growth.

The Mavericks do need to get better on defense and Hield would not help with accomplishing this. However, adding a player that puts up roughly 9.6 attempts from deep per game, Dallas could overwhelm teams with their shooting capabilities by adding him.

It wouldn’t be easy for the Mavericks to find a talent that is as talented from deep as Hield has proven to be with the Kings. Now, imagine how he’d fare when playing alongside an elite facilitator like Doncic in Rick Carlisle’s half-court offense?

With that being said, let’s take a look at a trade that would send Buddy Hield to the Dallas Mavericks.
