NBA Trade Candidate No. 2 — Buddy Hield, Sacramento Kings
Buddy Hield in the past has seemed like the type of player who wants out of Sacramento. He’s been vocal about airing out his displeasures with the organization through the media.
That’s not to say Hield’s concerns weren’t warranted — the Kings haven’t made the playoffs since 2006, the longest drought in the NBA. With Vlade Divac out and Monte McNair in as the shot-caller in Sacramento, the Kings are a team worth watching this offseason.
McNair, in time, will want to put his own vision in place. Whether that vision includes a player like Hield — who is talented but outspoken — is debatable.
Hield signed a four-year deal with the Kings in October, 2019, worth a max value of $106 million. But of course, it’s worth noting that contract was negotiated by Divac, not McNair.
